This month, our junior players shone brightly at the 2025 Junior Chess Circuit, with young talent Amina Kariuki securing the Under-12 title on August 15, 2025. Her strategic mastery has set a new benchmark for aspiring players. Additionally, our senior team clinched a commendable second place at the East African Chess Championship, held in Nairobi from August 10-12, 2025.
Upcoming Tournaments
Mark your calendars for the highly anticipated Nairobi Open Chess Championship, scheduled for September 5-7, 2025. With over 1,200 participants expected from across East and Central Africa, this event promises intense competition and a celebration of chess excellence. Registration opens on August 28, 2025—don’t miss out!
New Initiatives
We’re launching a series of online chess workshops starting September 1, 2025, designed for players of all levels. Led by FIDE-certified coaches, these sessions will focus on advanced strategies and endgame techniques. Sign-ups are open now via our website.
Community Spotlight
Our community chess clubs have been buzzing with activity, hosting weekly meetups every Saturday at 10:00 AM EAT. A special thanks to our volunteers who organized a successful family chess day on August 20, 2025, bringing together over 50 families to enjoy the game.
